So who are you really?

I'm Marissa (she/her), and I identify as bisexual. I grew up in the Bay Area and have lived in Denver since 2020. What drove me to become a therapist was my own firsthand experience of attending therapy as a client. I wanted to help others in the way my therapist helped me: to feel seen, supported, and capable of change.

Once I decided I wanted to pursue a career as a therapist, I focused on building my clinical foundation through education and training in evidence-based practices. While formal training is essential, I've learned that the lessons that shaped me most as a therapist came from my lived experiences and the relationships I've built along the way. Learning new perspectives and connecting with others still reinvigorates me today.

In my sessions, we'll talk about coping skills and go over practical tools to help with your goals. But most importantly, we're going to talk about how you got to this point and what shapes your reality. We'll unpack how your beliefs impact your worldview and what's stopping you from success. We'll really go there when you're ready!

What continues to inspire me about this work is seeing people reconnect with parts of themselves they thought were lost, the same way I once did. Therapy gave me the courage to rewrite my story, and I feel honored to help others do the same.

Outside of the therapy room, you can find me at Red Rocks, catching up on Bravo, planning my next solo trip, practicing yoga, reading a good book, or hanging out with my cat Kiki.
